This is the 2009 World Ice Art Championship held in Fairbanks, Alaska. Artist from all over the world come to Fairbanks and compete in several catagories of ice sculpture. For more information on the annual event you can go to http://www.icealaska.com and learn about the competitors and the overall event as well.

Some of these photo's do not give some of the sculptures true justice in respect to the size of the pieces. The only way to get a real feel for this event is to go there and see it first hand.
